CVE-2026-64132
A flaw in the Linux kernel’s IPv6 IOAM handling can cause a use‑after‑free when the packet buffer is reallocated. The bug lets an attacker trigger a crash or potentially run arbitrary code by sending a crafted packet. The issue has been fixed in a kernel patch.
An official fix is available, so this entry is kept for 30 days and then removed automatically.
Who is affected
All Linux systems running kernel versions before the patch, regardless of distribution. System administrators and users of those kernels are affected.
Real-world impact
An attacker could send a specially crafted IPv6 packet to a vulnerable host, causing the kernel to crash or, in the worst case, execute malicious code. This could lead to denial of service or full system compromise.
