CVE-2026-62183
Apache Syncope has a critical privilege escalation flaw that lets users grant themselves administrator roles via a REST API when certain workflow adapters are configured. Attackers can gain full control of the system. The issue is fixed in Apache Syncope 4.0.7 and 4.1.2.
An official fix is available, so this entry is kept for 30 days and then removed automatically.
Who is affected
Apache Syncope versions 3.0.0-M0 through 3.0.16, 4.0.0-M0 through 4.0.6, and 4.1.0-M0 through 4.1.1.
Real-world impact
An attacker can elevate privileges to administrator, gaining full control over the system, including data and configuration.
