CVE-2026-48561
A command injection flaw in Microsoft Edge’s Copilot Chat lets an attacker run arbitrary code on the victim’s machine. The vulnerability is triggered by special characters in user input that are not properly sanitized. It can be exploited by anyone who can send crafted input to the chat interface.
No official fix yet. If none appears within 45 days of first tracking, this entry is removed automatically.

Microsoft 365 Copilot – specifically the Copilot Chat feature accessed through Microsoft Edge. All users of this feature are potentially affected.
Real-world impact
An attacker could run any code on the victim’s computer, potentially taking full control, stealing data, or installing malware.
