CVE-2026-4599
A critical flaw in the jsrsasign library allows attackers to recover private keys by exploiting a bug in random number generation used for DSA signatures. The flaw exists in versions 7.0.0 through 11.1.0. Upgrading to 11.1.1 or later removes the vulnerability.
An official fix is available, so this entry is kept for 30 days and then removed automatically.
Who is affected
The JavaScript library jsrsasign, versions 7.0.0 to 11.1.0, used in web applications and other software that rely on DSA signatures.
Real-world impact
An attacker could recover the private key used for DSA signatures, enabling them to forge signatures and impersonate legitimate users or tamper with signed data.
Why this severity
The CVSS score of 9.3 reflects the high impact of a private key compromise (high confidentiality and integrity impact) combined with low attack complexity and no user interaction required.
What to do about it
- 01Upgrade jsrsasign to version 11.1.1 or later.
- 02Restart any services or applications that use the library.
