CVE-2024-47659
A bug in the Linux kernel’s Smack security module caused TCP/IPv4 packets to be labeled with the wrong security label, allowing a process to write to another process without permission.
An official fix is available, so this entry is kept for 30 days and then removed automatically.

Linux kernel systems with Smack enabled in the default state, before the patch that fixes CVE‑2024‑47659 (e.g., kernel 2.6.29.4 and later until updated).
Real-world impact
An attacker could exploit the mislabeling to send data that appears to come from a trusted label, enabling unauthorized write access between processes that should be isolated.
